Hi all,
just to let you know that Archi 4.7 Early Access 1 is available.
This is kind of like a pre-beta version. As we are still working on some features (custom display labels, graphical improvements and fixes) it makes sense to release an "Early Access" version so that you can try out the new features and fixes that we've implemented so far.
Amongst other things, a significant feature for Archi 4.7 EA is importing and merging an Archi model into another Archi model. This allows you to either merge one or models, or to create a reference model that you can initially import into a model, then maintain and update it separately and re-import it back into the target model adding new concepts and Views, or updating existing ones.
The Archi help documentation has more information, as does the Archi User Guide.

Cheers!
Great functionalities, as always.
Thank you very much ;D

Thanks Hervé. 8)
Don't forget, that we're also working on customised label presentation which is inspired by Hervé's Specialization plug-in - in fact some advice on implementation is needed ;-) https://github.com/archimatetool/archi/issues/576
Exiting new features indeed.
How do you see the merging of a reference model comparing to the template functionality?

The template is a starting point for a new model. Import/Merge can be used as a one-off combining of one or more models into one or, for the reference model, keeping it maintained separately, imported/merged with other models and when it's updated can be re-imported to update the objects in the target model.
Early Access 2 is now available - https://www.archimatetool.com/beta/
Early Access 3 is now available - https://www.archimatetool.com/beta/
This version has preliminary support for text expressions in labels (like that in Herve's Specialization plug-in) see https://github.com/archimatetool/archi/issues/576
Looking forward to playing with this after my current deadline is out of the way!
Does the reference model capability play nicely with the coArchi plugin?
Cheers,
Dave

It's importing/merging from another model, similar to CSV import, so shouldn't do anything different.
Early Access 4 is now available - https://www.archimatetool.com/beta/
This has more features for text expressions in labels and some bug fixes.
Here's a table detailing how to use label expressions:

Early Access 5 is now available - https://www.archimatetool.com/beta/
This has more features for text expressions and a new syntax for prefixes.
See https://github.com/archimatetool/archi/wiki/Label-Expressions
Early Access 6 is now available - https://www.archimatetool.com/beta/
This has more features for text expressions and a few other fixes.

Early Access is over and Archi 4.7 Beta 1 is now available - https://www.archimatetool.com/beta/
This beta release is available to test for last minute bugs before a full release. If necessary, further beta builds will be made.
Cheers,

Some feedback on the beta 4.7:
* Label expression are great. I need a quick way to set the label expression by recopying the same already present from a object in a view. I think they are part of the presentation of a visual object, so could the "Format Painter" tool do that ? If not, how to do it ?
* IMHO, the horizontal position of some fields in the "Appearence" tab is not great, as it forces an horizontal scrolling or a rather large width. I would rather keep all of them vertically like in 4.6.
Thanks for the excellent work in all case
> I need a quick way to set the label expression by recopying the same already present from a object in a view.
Copy and Paste them, just as you would with, say, the documentation field:
- Select and copy the format expression (Ctrl C).
- Select the target objects in the View (but not the original object).
- Paste the expression (Ctrl V).
- Ctrl Enter to complete.

There will be a local menu toggle option in the Properties window "Single Column Layout" - turn it on.
Archi 4.7 Beta 4 is now available - https://www.archimatetool.com/beta/
- Add a preference for local and user-defined fonts folders
- [Properties] Add a local menu option for single-column layout
- [Label Expressions] Add "parent" prefix

Phil
Excellent work!
On beta 5 the Windows 64-bit Installer link gives a 404.

It's still uploading...refresh your browser...
Done! Just great! :)
Archi 4.7 Beta 6 is now available - https://www.archimatetool.com/beta/
This one took a bit longer.
We changed how scaled graphics are rendered to fix a text clipping problem (beta 3) and this caused some other issues when drawing figures so these should be fixed now. See https://github.com/archimatetool/archi/issues/637
We also had to remove the preference to have a user directory for fonts that was introduced in beta 4 as there are more issues to solve. See https://github.com/archimatetool/archi/issues/628
Cheers,
Phil
Archi 4.7 Beta 7 is now available - https://www.archimatetool.com/beta/
We found out that that the text clipping fix caused outlines to be rendered differently on Windows than on Mac/Linux. So all the figures have been re-coded and all now use a true line width of 1 that scales when zoomed, rather than a line width that was the same hairline width whatever the zoom.

We're aiming to release Archi 4.7 final next week. Therefore there is a freeze on new features for 4.7, only last minute bug fixes.
