There's never been viruses in Archi binaries, and there aren't now.

Sometimes Symantec's scanner will flag up a "WS.Reputation.1" (https://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2010-051308-1854-99) but this is not a virus, rather it's Symantec's crappy idea of an app's "reputation". All you have to do is send a note to Symantec to say, "it's OK" and then it's whitelisted. I refuse to do that for every Archi release and beta release. In this case, my advice would be to uninstall Symantec's crap-ware and install a proper scanner.

Also, there are MD5 checksums on the download site to check authenticity of the binaries.

@Phil, nice you mentioned issues with Symantec.

Anyway the purpose was to demonstrate by facts what you in fact declared - no viruses. Now anyone can clearly see that.

The call to post another versions was rather to the community (i.e. users installing other versions).

Yes, thanks for the good intentions. :-)

I just thought I would convey my feelings about Symantec's scanner, which I regard as a virus. ;-)
