Title: OpenGroup Tool Certification
Post by: DaveVint on July 15, 2021, 09:07:07 AM
Hi,

I've been asked why Archi isn't on the list of certified ArchiMate tools here: https://certification.opengroup.org/register/archimate-tool

I recall reading somewhere that it's because Archi is not a commercial tool and has no formal organization to register it, but it is compliant with the certification requirements. However I cannot find where I read it! Was this just one of my occasional bouts of delusion, or is my understanding correct?

Cheers,

Dave

Hi,

You've most certainly read it here: https://www.archimatetool.com/blog/2018/10/05/why-archi/

TL;DR - It's better Archi remains free from tool certification for several reasons, political and practical.
