I'm interested to see which elements are used the most, somekind of ranking.
If we use to many elements, it will be hard to sell a consistent story to the customers.

Well, I don't think it's so simple as "which elements do you use the most". It all depends on the purpose(s) of your model and your stakeholders. You will certainly not provide too many details to CxO and focus on internal structure/behaviour in Business Layer and external structure/behaviour in Application Layer. This is the primary focus of viewpoints like Business Process, Application Usage...
But when the goal is to design something that will be built, you absolutly need (internal) details at both Application and Technology Layers.
So IMHO the answer is: it depends :-)
