Title: Missing ArchiMate elements
Post by: Eamonn_Casey on December 06, 2017, 16:43:12 PM
Love the tool. Great for building models that are correct to the ArchiMate metamodel.

Started to do some information modelling With a view to give Our architects some advice. Maybe I missed it, but there are some elements that are missing. Most notable the Technical Data Object.

Is there a reason for this? Or can't I find it?

Version I got is 4.1.1. Downloaded it today.

Thanks for any feedback.

Hi,

that's an abstract concept, realised as Artifact.

Yes, that's an abstract concept. But "realised as Artifact" doesn't mean anything (at least in ArchiMate).

I guess what Phil wanted to say is that this abstract concept is specialized in Artifact and Material.

FWIW, there are lots of other abstract concepts in ArchiMate (e.g. "Business Internal Behavior Element") thez are used to make the metamodel figures more readable and to support some common relationships.

Yeah, I meant it in its literal sense, as in "manifested as". :-)
