Archi 4.8 Early Access Version is now available.
Many of the improvements and fixes in 4.8 are under the hood and address some issues in the user interface.
One of the main challenges we face is getting Archi to run on macOS. Apple release a new version of macOS every year and this usually gives rise to problems in the UI. The latest version of macOS, Big Sur, will be released tomorrow.
I've tested Archi 4.7.1 on Big Sur beta and found various things that need to be addressed. These are generally issues with Eclipse, the framework on which Archi is built. In order to resolve these issues we have to build Archi 4.8 on a version of Eclipse that is still in development, Eclipse 4.18. The final release of Eclipse 4.18 will be in mid-December, but we can access interim builds.
Therefore it makes sense to release an "Early Access" version of Archi so that you can try out the new features and fixes that we've implemented so far. If you are an early adopter of macOS Big Sur you have access to a version of Archi right now that fixes some of the issues in the UI.
