When I use "Association Relation" to draw motivation view, I notice in our Archi Tool, there're two "straight line" notation.
One is this Association Relation within Relationship, another is the "Connection - Connect to Nodes" at the right of the Grouping.
When trying, I can (seems) connect a group with node using the latter one.
From the attachment, the "Association Relation" is one actual Relationship that can be added into the model, while that Connection to Nodes line is not visible in the relationship list.
I think for modeling one formal relationship, definately the "Association" should be used, however, wish to hear from your opinion whether there're any hints or best practice to distinguish of choose these two. For after all, if not making a label wording, the looks and feels is identical.
Thanks and regards,
Connection is used for linking non archimate visual shapes (notes) to archimate elements. It is thus easy to distinguish them from association because it is clear one of the ends is not archimate. In addition, you can change its appearance (switch to dotted lines, add arrows...).
Thanks a lot JB, now realize there're so many possibility of using this "connection" notation.
