Hi,

we're pleased to announce the availablity of Archi 4 Beta 1 which supports the new concepts in ArchiMate 3.0.

Please be aware that this beta version cannot open/import Archi 3 models. The next beta version will have a converter to handle this. The aim of this first beta version is to get initial feedback and to catch any bugs before moving forward.

Thanks a lot Phil, this is really goond news.

May I do a bit of advertising about my database plugin as it already allow to convert Archi 3 models to Archi 4 with the following key caveats :

  • views viewpoint is reset to "none"
  • UsebByRelationship relations are converted to AssociationRelationship relations

Here is the instructions to convert a model from Archi 3 to Archi 4 :

  • In Archi 3

  • In Archi 4

and voila  ;D

You will find more information on Github : https://github.com/archi-contribs/database-plugin

Best regards
Hervé

When could we have a beta with DB plugin ?

Gilles

Phil Beauvoir

Hi,

Change log can be seen here https://github.com/archimatetool/archi/commits/master

DB plugin is not developed by me, so I have no control on that.

Hi gilles,

The DB plugin is available for both Archi 3 and Archi 4.

I tested the Archi 4 plugin against the beta 2 and will test it against beta 3 by the end of the week.

Best regards
Hervé

Thanks for your reply !

Hervé : after dropping the DB plug-in in the plugins folder, it doesn't appear in Archimate 4 beta 3 (& 2).
In beta 1  it was working ...

Best regards,
Gilles

Hervé

Hi Gilles,

Some people experienced some missing librairies in my plugin. I compiled a new JAR with different parameters and this seems to solve the issue.

Could you please try with the vesion 0.12b available on GitHub ?

If this doesn't solve your issue, I will provide you with a procedure to gather logs that will help me find a solution.

Best regards
Hervé

Glem

Hervé,
problem solved !

I try deeply the plugin tomorrow.

Best regards,
Gilles

Hi Phil,

I'm using Archi 4 Beta v4. Very good as always, but where do you want bug reports sent to? Here?

Cheers
