Can you suppress the relationships when adding elements from the explorer?

Does anyone know if there is a way to suppress the automatic drawing of all the relationships between elements already on the diagram and an element you add from the model browser?
At the moment I spend a lot of time deleting the relationships I don't want to show on the current view. 
OK sorry solved it - hold the CTRL key whilst you drop the element -  sorry should have played a bit more before I asked.
