Hi,

we're pleased to announce that Archi 4.6 has been released. This release supports ArchiMate 3.1.

More information here - https://www.archimatetool.com/blog/2019/11/11/archi-4-6/

Download here - https://www.archimatetool.com/download/

Couple of points:

- MacOS Catalina users should read this - https://www.archimatetool.com/faq/#mac
- Archi plug-ins now have the "*.archiplugin" file extension

Have fun!

Phil

Hi Phil,

This is fantastic and look forward to installing it for our team.

  • Will it detect and uninstall the current installed Archi or is it best to do this manually.
  • If uninstalling does not remove my Archi workspace and user folder will the new installation automatically pick up plugins found in the dropins folder, i.e. the existing *.jar files.
  • To your point about *.archiplugin is this a replacement of the plugins *.zip for installation of the plugin or the *.jar file in the dropins folder

Sorry, if these may be obvious it's just that I've always carried out a clean install when upgrading, but this time round I want to take the shortest path where I don't need to reinstall plugins and configure them.

Thanks,
Manjit

Hi Manjit,

The installer should delete the old installation so you don't really need to uninstall the old one.

Yes, the dropins folder should be picked up as long as you didn't change the location in the Archi.ini file.

*.archiplugin is a zip file containing jars. I renamed it because some browsers automatically unzip *.zip files when downloaded.

Cheers,

Phil

Er, the download page is pointing at a 4.5.1 folder and I'm getting a 404.

(same for Windows too).

I tried guessing the 4.6 folder unsuccessfully.

I tried a different browser. Got there in the end. Looks like a good update, thanks - can't wait to try it out.

Hervé

Thanks very much for your hard work ;D

I've just installed this latest version and I can see the significant improvements in performance - 'search as you type' in our large model was becoming very slow, but is now lightning fast.

Also, great to finally see my requested model element(s) Cut & Paste to make moving them between folders simpler.

Will be rolling it out across the team :)

I'm really pleased with all the changes and thanks for all your superb hard work.
