Feature-request: connection-anchor type per view

Possible to have the connection-anchor type be different per view?
In some views orthogonal is nicer, in others not.  With the type being global I am now regularly forced to go to preferences and switch to the most appropriate type.
Could be a configurable thing, so that people who like the global preference are not bothered...
