Specific Derived Relationships?

Hi I'm quite new to Archi, so my apologies if this is quite an obvious question.

I'm trying to understand specific relationships within the models, typically for an impact assessment. So I want to know the answers to questions like:

  • What Business Processes use a particular piece of Technology (Infrastructure)?
  • What Application components use a particular data object?

I can sort of get this information through the visualiser by increasing the depth, but the picture gets very complicated very quickly. So I think what I need is to be able to limit the derived relationships presented. Such as between:

  • Business Processes and Infrastructure. or
  • Application Components and Data Objects

Is this possible?

Hi, this kind of thing is not possible in the Visualiser or really in the Navigator (would have to open many tree nodes). It sounds like a candidate for a new kind of query view, as you say, showing derived relations and implicit connections between the layers.
