Just a heads up - currently Archi is built using Eclipse 4.6.3 (Neon). This is the version of the Eclipse IDE and also of the target platform for Archi itself. Very soon we will need to update to Eclipse 4.7.x (Oxygen). One of the reasons is that there is a bug on Mac High Sierra (see https://github.com/archimatetool/archi/issues/304), and also because we can't stay on older Eclipse versions forever (sadly).

When I make the transition I will update this page - https://www.archimatetool.com/dev/eclipse-setup

For existing developers this means upgrading your Eclipse IDE to 4.7.x and setting the new Archi target.

This is what I did:

1. Download basic Eclipse IDE 4.7.x from here - http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/
2. Open this Eclipse and point it at my workspace
3. In Eclipse, added some new plug-ins ("Install new software....") - Git Integration, for example
4. In Eclipse, opened the Archi target file (com.archimatetool.editor.product/archi.target) and clicked "Set as Target Platform" (top right of the editor)
5. Waited while Eclipse resolved the new dependencies
6. Created a new launch configuration from the com.archimatetool.editor.product/archi.product file (I actually deleted the older launch configuration)

Any problems, see this issue see https://github.com/archimatetool/archi/issues/307
