Title: Feature request: Fill pattern instead of colours
Post by: Dekker on November 04, 2016, 13:16:26 PM
I'd like the option to colour elements by using fill patterns instead of (or perhaps in addition to) the solid fill colour that is currently available. The problem is when Archi models are printed on B&W printers, differentiating the elements of different colours is problematic. It would be nice if we could use a weak background pattern (user selectable like colour, say none for business, left-slanting for application-layer, and right-slanting for technology-layer) that would retain meaning when printed without colour.

This StackOverflow question shows an example of the problem and potential solutions (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15014595/how-to-use-black-and-white-fill-patterns-instead-of-color-coding-on-calendar-hea)

Is it possible to do this now?

Hi,

this is not possible to do in Archi. TBH, I'm not sure how much effort it would take to implement it. Perhaps add it as a feature request on GitHub?
